Unfortunately, we all know that SPAM is not limited to the food made by Hormel.  The type of SPAM I want to talk about is the abuse of electronic messaging systems to indiscriminately send unsolicited bulk messages.

We all have our main e-mail accounts, that is the ones that we share with family, friends, co-workers.  One decent way to avoid SPAM is to utilize a free web-based e-mail accounts, such as the ones offered by Google, Yahoo, etc.  Whenever I sign-up for an offer on-line or give out my e-mail address, I use a web-based e-mail account that is not tied into my main e-mail account.
